Kimsey Creative | Creative Director

October 2018 - October 2021 (3 years 1 month)

Sammamish, Washington--I provided a range of digital services including building websites, logo design, online brand, and presence/brand creation, Eventbrite setup, light graphic and video design, and social account management for political campaigns, social justice initiatives, small businesses, and nonprofits. I often trained users on Facebook insights, advise on strategy and positioning, boosting, reading their audience, and free/easy design apps for graphics. I utilized Weebly, WIX, and/or WordPress depending on the client’s preferences. I love empowering small non-profits, and small businesses to harness the power of Facebook marketing. My consultations touched on light graphic design, free/low-cost tools and provided a high-level overview in analytics, insights, and basic strategy.

Plateaupians for Peace | Executive Director

November 2016 - December 2019 (3 years 2 months)

Sammamish, Washington-- I drove a successful grassroots social justice non-profit that connects neighbors by cultivating a safe space for meaningful communication so that our neighbors can share willingly and listen openly. P4P works to create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment by building free/low cost community events such as Global Cooking nights, Comparative Religion workshops, vigils, letter-writing campaigns, LGBTQ+ Youth Art exhibit, and more. We have sold out of our annual fantastic Iftar three years in a row attended by 100 people, half of which are non-Muslim. We keep our ear to the ground and listen to what our micro-community needs. P4P works with religious groups, other non-profits, legislators, and local businesses. We became the heart, soul, and voice for people who felt alone and/or marginalized in their community.
